I love reading crowd-sourced pieces! Nor do I think there’s anything wrong with a writer “curating” a collection of interesting quotes or anecdotes, as long as the folks whose quotes are being used are okay with it. (Or are dead, in which case I assume that they no longer care.)
#1: I didn’t believe you crowd sources real librarians. It was hilarious either way.
#2: I wrote a crowd sourced book, too, “The Tao of Blogging.”
I used the strangest/funniest quotes I could find by Medium writers back in 2017, and wove a narrative around them, like in the description for the book.
The book combines my graphic design sensibilities with my subversive writing skills. Type in “donut” in the discount code to get the book for free.
