A few historical footnotes need to be added to this priceless video:
- The Cleveland Lebrons were on their way to 66 wins that season, but were missing from outside. Mo Williams (Lebron’s best helper and an All-Star that year) was 1 for 12 through three quarters.
- Los Angeles was playing an inspired game, and led by as many as 19 points.
- As the third quarter ended, I will never forget hearing announcer Ralph Lawler ask
“can the Clippers hold on to a 17-point lead?”
That comment and the cluster*ck fourth quarter that followed truly symbolizes the Clipper experience.
