Agreed.
Thanks for the NBA 5-man lineup stats. They confirm what I’ve been seeing during the games.
The big run against the Pelicans was the K-RICH unit (Kuzma, Randle, Ingram, Clarkson and Hart), and not surprisingly they have the highest +/- rating of +10.5.
But I also like the idea of the H-KRIB unit you mention. I love the way Hart has been playing team defense. It’s crazy how naturally Ball, Kuzma and Hart played together in Summer League.
In spite of the unfavorable sounding name, I like the BRICK line up, as well (Ball, Randle, Ingram, Caldwell-Pope and Kuzma), which is a +8.
The other BRICK line up (substitute Clarkson for KCP) is +0.
Incidentally, the starters, appropriately represented by the BLINK line up acronym (Ball, Lopez, Ingram, Nance and KCP) has consistently blinked against opposing starters, with a -4.5 rating over the most minutes played.
However, I’m shocked that the NIBBLers (Nance, Ingram, Ball, Brewer and Lopez) are a +8.5. But I think it’s because Brewer plays such good team defense (he is horrible on offense), unlike KCP who is always going for kamikaze steals that leave the defense open to easy penetration and baskets in the paint.
BTW, it didn’t take a blind man to see that the BLIND line up (Ball, Lopez, Ingram, Nance, Deng) was horrible, confirmed by its -7.0 rating.
