Between 2002–2004, it was so bad, it affected millions of adults. Millions of us knew about the lies and the propaganda, but the feeling of isolation made each individual experience gaslighting to some extent. When I made calls in 2004 for the Kerry campaign, you can’t imagine the relief I felt talking to someone in Texas or Ohio or Wisconisn who was also against the war, and reassuring them that they weren’t crazy and they weren’t alone.
