Appointments do not equal action. Trump will be able to undo a lot of what Obama did unilaterally, but not all of that was productive, anyway. A “horrific attack on everything we hold dear as a country” will take a lot of navigation of the DC…
First, list the things that Obama did through executive order that were productive or unproductive. Every one of them can be overturned by a new president through executive order.
Second, when you fill your cabinet people with the worst scum from the swamp, you are able to effect great damage by having them neglect to fulfill their duties and enforce the law. For example, the DOJ can focus its efforts on hate crimes and voter suppression, or it can crack down on states that have legalized marijuana. We saw this happen during the Bush administration with the way the FERC almost criminally neglected the market manipulation done by the energy companies during the manufactured California electricity crisis.
I can’t help it if you are unaware of recent history, but your Clinton mania is a result of 30 years of right wing talking heads and a complicit media. Your shock over the appointment of Ken Salazar sounds the same as if Clinton would have appointed an anti-semitic right wing lunatic as her chief of staff. Oh, wait, somebody else has already done that.
When both conservatives and liberal freak out about candidate’s racist, misogynist and xenophobic rhetoric there is something really bad heading for our country.
When the Russians hack into our information to help one candidate and that candidate’s team acknowledges there were in contact, that is a fundamental attack on our democracy.
