Holding on to regrets is basically the inability to forgive ourselves. Forgiveness may be the most important ability an adult needs to learn in their life. Without it, your ability to love is severely restricted. Your ability to perform your best in difficult or competitive situations is severely compromised (I know as a failed pro tennis player). And your ability to grow as a person is compromised because of the anger you will hold on to.
