I appreciate the story of your ancestry. We are all immigrants at one point or another. Even though my grandparents were born in the States and my father was raised just outside Chicago, he suffered the pain of being an outsider. He still remembers the day, 91 years ago, when the kids in his class chased him home, yelling “Christ killer.”
Maybe one day, we will get over the identities of race and religion and simply be known as “Terran” (short for terrestrial, from the French “la terre”, and the Spanish “la tierra.”)
