I think that is why I keep tilting at Medium’s windmills. I’ve read the comments of hundreds of desperate people who hope to change their lives by following the literal write-by-the-numbers listicles of content marketers who feed off the subscriptions of the people they lie to.

When Medium didn’t pay anything, I mocked the social media tycoons because of the terrible quality of their writing.

Now, it feels like a criminal offense, no different from any for-profit educational scam.
