I think the only thing Laker nation would say is “no way.”
If Lebron comes as a free agent, that’s fine because he’s still the best player in the world. But I love the way the team is playing now, because they play defense, share the ball, and run every game.
Adding Lebron and the remaints of Wade and Frye wouldn’t be much different from playing with Kobe when he stopped playing defense and running the floor. I hated watching those Lakers, even during the 2010 championship season, because they had become old plodders who only put out an effort in the playoffs.
However, this trade might fly, as Cleveland gets new blood and a small ball 5 who would be a good complement to Kevin Love. It’s also the deal which least reduces the Cav’s projected wins.
The Lakers can’t resign/afford any of these guys if they want to play the free agent game and have a chance at Paul George. This creates an interesting lineup for the Lakers: Lonzo, Ingram, Pg-13, Kuzma, with Lebron as point center.
