I totally agree with your idea. However, I think you violated your own criteria when you suggested that an example of “Controversial Opinion” would be “I think Donald Trump would make a excellent president.”

Mr. Trump’s statements have branded him a racist in the eyes of pretty much every Hispanic and black person in this country. His insults toward Megyn Kelly have branded him an unapologetic misogynist, even in the eyes of Fox News.

And his policy positions are empty general statements like “I’ll make the Mexicans pay for the wall” “There’s nobody bigger or better at the military than I am“ and “I know how to make a deal (it says so in my book)”. It would be impossible for a follower to give genuine, considered reasons other than “because Donald said so.”
