…, I couldn’t call the porcupine a “pest.” Sure, she was a pest to me, but she was just porcupining. Even my trumped-up “threat to the dog” was really just worry about a vet bill. The fact was, she hadn’t hurt anyone. Her biggest “crime” was pruning some invasive species I had planted in her habitat.
