If you set up a false equivalency between the two candidates and never talk about the issues or how one candidate’s plans have no basis in reality, that’s a very powerful way to prevent people from making an informed decision.
That confusion and disgust by the public over both candidates turned off a huge numbers of people. History has shown that Republican candidates have their best chance to win when there is low turnout. many famous Republican strategists have openly said the same thing.
