I’m a huge fan of Nadal as well as Federer. Along with Djokovic, they have been like the Hindu triumvirate, with Federer as the Creator, Nadal the Preserver, and Djokovic the Destroyer.
I’ve written a ton of answers about these guys and the future of the sport, but I think my analysis of the 2017 Australian Open Finals, breaks down pretty much everything we’ve seen from Federer-Nadal rivalry since then:
The most ironic thing about their renaissance is that the style of game Nadal was forced to learn in order to regain the #1 ranking eliminated the one thing in Nadal’s arsenal that allowed him to get pressure Federer and get in his head for so many years. Federer has won five straight, so now it will be interesting if Nadal can overcome that mental obstacle.
