Tennis is one of the most beautiful sports in the world. I suppose you could argue it is simple in the sense that only one singles player, or a doubles team is totally responsible for their own performance with the goal of winning.

Perhaps I misunderstood what you wrote. Would you describe chess as simple?

The last phrase at the end of your paragraph really three me, as it could be just as easily said about any elite athlete: “Don’t fuck up this time.”

The combination of mental toughness, court vision, knowing an opponent’s tendencies, knowing that your opponent has studied your tendencies, and then flawlessly executing an unexpected move is why players like Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Murray and Warwrinka every bit as brilliant as Lebron, Curry, Westbrook, Hardin and Durant.
