Thanks for your insight about today’s dating scene. Your 6 actions are a great start to becoming a better person and having better relationships. Like your generation, your parents’ generation have no idea what love is, confusing it with chemistry, lust and infatuation.

For me, the greatest definition of love comes from M. Scott Peck, who wrote in the “Road Less Travelled”:

“Love is the will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth… Love is as love does. Love is an act of will — namely, both an intention and an action. Will also implies choice. We do not have to love. We choose to love.”

We don’t “find” true love. We can only choose to love, regardless of whether we are loved in return. Like the old saying “when the student is ready, the teacher appears,” when you are ready to share real love, the right partner may enter your life.
