This is a very noble, Zen and the Art of Archery kind of message. But you couldn’t be more misleading to readers with a clickbait headline to get to this point.
Watch the scene where Yoda tells Luke to raise the X-Wing out of the swamp in The Empire Strikes Back.
“Do or do not, there is no try.”
Yoda is teaching Luke to use the force to raise an inanimate object, not exert mind control over 100,000 people to get them to click on the follow button.
If you want to be more transparent, you could have titled the article, “How to be helpful as a writer,” or “As long as you have one reader you are a writer,” or “One thousand followers feels like 100,000 followers.”
Or were you worried that nobody would read an article like that?
