Throughout the song, Beyonce sings about herself. There is only one reference to the word “we.”

Okay, ladies, now let’s get in formation, cause I slay
Prove to me you got some coordination, cause I slay
Slay trick, or you get eliminated
If she sang “cause we slay” I would understand your interpretation of the social significance of the empty swimming pool scene. But if Beyonce is singing she is the one who slays, don’t her backup dancers have to show the coordination to stay in her formation? And if they don’t, don’t they get fired (eliminated)? Your thoughts?
