What surprised me is that you had no comment about Rick Fischer’s emotional and irrational response. His response about Democrats getting total power in 2008 and how their contempt of whites became so virulent has no basis in reality. (Anyone can check the facts: there were only four months when the Dems had a fillibuster proof Senate; the rest of Obama’s 7 2/3 years were wasted by continuous GOP obstruction).
The fact that he hears dog whistles about whites being a
slur, a place holder for “bigot”, for “hater”
is more indicative of him projecting his own hatred than anything I wrote.
Finally, in writing about legitimate and illegitimate use of power, he works himself into a frenzy about misusing the current Republican control of government to ignore the wishes of the majority of the people in this country. Just look at any national poll on the major issues. The vast majority of people, including Republicans and Independents, want to preserve Social Security and Medicare, cut defense spending, get more access to health care, universal background checks for guns, make the rich and corporations pay their fair share of taxes, and a list of things too long to note here. Trump and the right wing now have the power to do the exact opposite.
