While I enjoyed the humor of this article — and let me congratulate you for monetizing the “hey you punk kids, get off my lawn” persona — I don’t think Medium sucks because it wants to suck, or wants to piss off subscribers so much they cancel their subscriptions (like I intend to do, if my demands are not met).

The issue is, Medium is not making enough money by doing it the old way, or the logical way. When something as simple as clicking to see responses no longer opens the list of comments, but takes you to a separate comments page where you can no longer refer back to the original article, there has to be some profit driven motive for doing something so annoying.
