You don’t get Muhammed Ali without Jackie Robinson. You don’t get Serena Williams without Arthur Ashe.
As much as I would have loved Obama to fulfill his promises of hope, there is no way he would have accomplished as much as he did if he came on strong in the face of the GOP’s obstructionism and the lynch mob mentality of the millions on the lunatic fringe.
During the 2008 debates, the only real difference in the policy positions of Obama and Clinton was that Obama was against the war. I think the mistake we made with the President is that WE were the ones who projected all those progressive dreams on Obama.
