Your point that the Iraq War was a resumption of the original war is completely wrong. There was NO reason for the second invasion.

George HW Bush and Secretary of State Cheney did not topple Hussein because it would create a power vacuum, into which Islamic extremists could move — Hussein’s dictatorship was horrible, but it was secular. He was at war with our enemies in Iran AND women could be educated and work any job while he was in power.

George W Bush and Vice President Cheney did the exact opposite by starting a preemptive war against a country that had no WMDs and did not invade another country like Kuwait, then deposed Hussein to create the power vacuum which Al Qaeda and then ISIS then filled.

Young people protesting the war may not have known the complete history as I do, but they were right to oppose the war. The question about why we didn’t invade the 100 other countries ruled by dictators was valid then and still is today.

Some people have an intuitive sense about liars and scum bags.
