Your story reminds me of when I was in my twenties and couldn’t play on the circuit due to an injury. My girlfriend took some vacation time and we ended up on a beach where she read and sunbathed and I was going crazy from the inactivity. I couldn’t understand how these people could be such vegetables. Fast forward to a “real” job, kids, dogs, and homeowner responsibilities and suddenly the idea of doing nothing but read and nap all day looks really good!

One bit of advice from my wife, the RN: when you get enough training and experience, see if you can handle a normal 12-hour shift. A 3-day work week will make life a whole lot easier for you to pursue your interests and stay in shape.
