You do not have to agree with my view that every one of these stories is fluff, nonsense or otherwise inappropriate or unfair in order to admit what is now too obvious to be denied: the media is running its own flagrant, incendiary and totally classless smear campaign against Donald Trump. It is undoubtedly doing so both because the media is the establishment favoring Hillary Clinton, th…
You’re absolutely correct. The media is biased.
The only problem is that the facts don’t coincide with your opinion:
Study: Trump boosted, Clinton hurt by primary media coverage
Though he regularly bashes the media as dishonest, scum and the "absolute worst," Donald Trump disproportionately…
As can be seen, Trump’s coverage was favorable in all of the news outlets we studied. There were differences from one outlet to the next but the range was relatively small, from a low of 63 percent positive or neutral in The New York Times to a high of 74 percent positive or neutral in USA Today. Across all the outlets, Trump’s coverage was roughly two-to-one favorable.
This study tracked the primary campaign throughout 2015.
It also reports that Clinton got far more coverage about the issues, but 84% was negative in tone:
What does all of the data tell us?
First, the media provided tremendous aid to Trump, allowing him succeed in the GOP primaries. If they had treated him the same way they are treating him now, is there any chance he would have won the nomination?
Second, the media did everything they could to damage Clinton going into the general election.
Why is this, if you claim that now the media is boosting Clinton while slamming Trump?
The answer is ratings.
Trump gave them unbelievable ratings throughout the primaries. Now they have set up a contest between the two most hated public figures in politics. Every political junky throughout the political spectrum is tuning in and going crazy.
When the coverage changes at some point over the next month or so, they will focus on Clinton’s flaws and conveniently forget every stupid thing Trump has said. They will do everything they can to tighten the race, because that means more ratings and more money.
